Hot-headed Trump needs to be 'Mr. Cool' in Monday debate, experts say
By Xinhua
This article from China Daily looks at the preparations both candidates are likely making as the first presidential debate is approaching. As the headline suggests, the article spends quite some time discussing Trump's "hot-headed" nature, going on to also call him a "brash businessman" known for "insults and over-the-top statements".
There are a few basic premises that have to be considered true for this argument to make sense to a reader. The largest of these premises is that Trump is by nature outrageous and unlikely to control himself. The second is that someone cannot act the way Trump has been acting and win the trust of voters. Something interesting about this article, it doesn't mention any of Trump's comments on China as a scapegoat for American issues. It mentions his comments on Mexicans, Muslims, and other political candidates, but not his comments on China. Instead, this article is built on premises that a person from China would find to be true based on Trump's over simplification of them as a people and the problems between their countries. Overall, at least during this time in the campaign, China is not necessarily a fan of Trump.
